What is Virtuix

Virtuix, founded in 2013, leads VR innovation with its groundbreaking Omni One, an omni-directional treadmill that brings full-body movement into virtual spaces. Inspired by the idea of true VR immersion, Omni One lets users navigate games naturally—walking, running, and interacting seamlessly. As a complete VR system with a treadmill, standalone headset, and game store access, Omni One transforms gameplay by capturing and mirroring user movement in 360 degrees, offering a uniquely immersive VR experience that goes beyond traditional controllers.

My Profile View

The Profile View is where the user will be able to view their own profile or other players profiles to view their online status, stats, and recently played games.

Home Screen

The Home Screen Launcher is a screen the user will first see first after onboarding and will be a page they frequently go back to to access friends, stats, events, and see new things happening in the Omni One ecosystem.

Profile View

Profile view was a screen that the user and their friends would refer back to see how the user was doing with fitness goals and the types of games they are playing. This screen was previously designed by another designer and was originally fitted for the previously headset the team was using (Pico 3).

Solution

Improving the design of the screen was simply outlining the information architecture and realizing the best way to display that information. This becomes a theme with most of the screens in the software. Displaying the information in clearer ways. As well as information and design hierarchy.

Final Product

Goals & Motives

  • Make the system easy to use on one page that can illustrate all the information without having to dive into another menu state.

  • Highlight fitness tracking information and make it easy for the user to navigate that information.

  • Recently played section made to allow users to jump back into the game quickly and for other players to see what the user is playing.

  • Improve the overall UI design of the screen.

Home Screen

The home screen was actually the first project I had with the team. Taking on no influence from the previous design the team wanted me to push the envelope and come up with a fresh design that would influence the rest of the designs for all our other screens within the software.

The Solution

With no influence on the design from previous iterations of their UI, I was able to have full reign on what I could find to be a good experience.

This project had some limitations but mostly was pretty freeform. So with that the idea of being able to access your friends quickly is seen all around home screens. Taking influence from popular home screens like Playstation and Xbox I was able to make sure the player right off the bat is able to jump back in, and also access their friends.

Followed by games they can check out, recently played, and accessing upcoming events.

Giving a clear hierarchy of information and things to do. The top would always have a banner showing games they could buy or jump back into.

Goals & Motives

  • Make the home screen more interactive and allow users to jump back into games a lot quicker.

  • All users to easily access their friends and connect quicker.

  • Create ways for players to jump into new games and seeing new games they could buy and play

  • Easy way to access community events and play games together.
